New Year, New Me...

New Years, The time of year we ALWAYS make a list and decide this is our year to change things. A new year a new slate. This past year has proved to be a rocky and sometimes unbearable path but I know it is something God has wanted to me to go thru to learn lifes many lessons. I am so thankful for this new year and plan to make it a great year, weight loss, being happy with what I have, not always wanting more, live day to day, have no regrets, call friends and family more, live the way God would want me to and most of all be happy and thankful for each day. Wishing you all a great new year!!!!

Break Down

So I did it, the tv sucked me in. I have been watching biggest loser all season and yes I sat in front of the tv with food and pop while watching it. I have hit my all time low... our header, the picture of my little family makes me cry... I cant believe I have let myself get this way. I am the biggest ever. Well back to the tv, I did it I joined the Biggest loser online club. Its great I feel like this is it... I have met some other nurses and people with the same stories as mine and am really motivated right now. I hope to keep it up. I really need to do this for my self confidence but also for our wedding and to be healthy for children. Anyways that is a new update and work is well work... hoping it gets better and I feel better about
Hope everyone has a great week. Mom and I are going shopping tomorrow!!! I am so excited and christmas is fast approaching.

Updates

It's been forever since I have blogged!! Life has been busy. Work for me is going good I cant wait to get a routine and get to know people better there. I feel kind of like an outsider. I talked to my friend Renata tonight and it made me miss her and the Bloomington ED alot!! Thanksgiving came and went and we enjoyed time with family and all the yummy food. It looks like christmas around our home, we put up the tree and decorated inside and put up the lights outside a few days ago. Jinxy and Serenity are starting to stand each other and actually laying together. Pictures of all the happenings coming soon. I have been watching Christmas movies non stop it is so awesome!!! I feel like such a kid!!! Mike and I have to work alot of the christmas parties this year which makes us really sad but we plan on doing some fun things when we have Evan. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far and hope to see each and everyone sometime this season.

Jinxy vs. Serenity

Wow. I didnt think it would be this hard. Jinxy is mad, serenity is wanting to play and then jinxy gives us dirty looks, she hissed at me and wouldnt let me hold her. AHHHHH I pray that this gets better.

Serenity!!!

Evans Room and Brooke Heather and I in Chicago.

So Mike came home from work today and he has been wanting a new cat forever because jinxy is "my cat" and just doesnt like him all that well but when he got home he said we are going to the shelter to get a cat. I have never been to the shelter and boy it was nice and sad at the same time. We played with the cats and wanted to take them all home and heard the dogs barking and just wanted to raise them all. If you want a new pet the shelter is a great place to get them. They are well taken care of, already have their shots and they install a chip for tracking purposes and we got coupons for more shots and spay/nueter coupons, food, and papers all for 65. Well, We ended up with one. Serenity. She is so cute and precious and Mike got what he wanted. Beside eating and playing Serenity has not left his side. If you all know Jinxy you know she is throwing a fit and hopefully will get over it. She just keeps hissing and hides under the bed.

It started snowing while we were at the shelter and Mike and I were basically jumping up and down like kids!!! It was awesome.

Ill leave you with some pictures of serenity and others I have promised. Have a great day.

Falling into place...

Everything is beginning to fall into place. I have been going thru orientation at Deaconess and start my first actual shift this saturday. Mike is doing awesome and enjoys St Marys. He just got an 11-11 shift also so yeah we are going to be on the same shift!!!! Evans room is coming along great. Carpet is in and walls are painted. Heather, Brooke, and I had a great time at Chicago and seeing USHER!!!! There are tons of funny stories but are better told in person, hahahaha right girls!! Once we get our computer all fixed up right I will be able to upload some pictures. Maybe after thanksgiving I will be able to put up tons of pics. I know I say this alot but I miss all my coworkers and friends at bloomington. I will hopefully visit after the first of the New Year. I know I have already posted on the upcoming holidays but I have to say it again... I LOVE IT!!! Our DVR is totally packed with shows already! I cant wait to decorate! I hope everyone is having a great week so far and have a great weekend coming up.

On to another note... with everything "falling into place" I have to be so thankful to our heavenly father for these great things. Without him nothing would be possible. I only come to God when I need something, isnt that sad?? Striving to be closer with him and his word is my highest goal, along with other new years resolutions this is the highest of importance and hope to be a stronger witness for God.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I love love love this time of the year. I know people are annoyed with christmas getting earlier and earlier but I'm not gonna complain. Many posts to come will update on the Snell family christmas but this a.m. when I woke up and turned on the tv my favorite channel abc family had a commercial for the countdown to 25 days of christmas and then the 25 days of christmas. If you have never watched this you must~!~!~! It is awesome!! I am giddy just thinking about it.

I was scrapbooking yesterday and found some old pictures of me before nursing school, when Mike and I first met, and coaching Barr Reeve softball. I cannot believe how much I have let myself go. It is sooooo sad. I think it is almost 70 lbs. So today I started back on weight watchers and working out. Its going to be a long hard journey but a journey I must take.

I have been out of bloomington a few days and already miss it, well not it but all the people in it. I start next monday at Deaconess. Evan was with us this weekend. We had a good time but we are starting to see some attitude and bad behavior develop and just a few minutes ago we got a call that he was suspended for fighting so I am not sure what we are going to do. Anyways I gotta get the house cleaned, workout, do laundry and do some other things. Maybe another blog later.Oh by the way the pictures above are of my awesome friends heather and Brooke and Mike and I at Marges party last weekend. It was a blast!!Have a great week.

Time Flies...

When your having fun. Life is great. I have 3 more days at Bloomington then I am off for about 12 days!!!! woohoo Thank goodness for an unexpected vacation. Tonight we are going to a party at Marges. My awesome friends are coming up from Eville and Washington and it is going to be a blast.
Mike and I are going over to the apt and meet with the apt people about the rent among other things. Please pray that we will make it out of there without oweing thousands and thousands of dollars and that Mike doesnt hurt anyone, jk jk hahaha. I have never lived somewhere that were total "moneygrubbers." I mean I know people are always out for their best interest and to make a buck but goodness this apt complex up here is the WORST place to live and the apt people are so rude and hateful. I can't wait to get out from under them. I have yet to hear a good thing about them when I talk about them at work. NEVER live at Millenium properties!
Anyways back to the good things in life because really God has blessed me with an awesome life and I am so thankful.
Family life is good, but I miss my nephew cooper alot. That is a long story that is better left in a personal conversation. He is so stinkin cute and pray for things to work out between Loren and us.
Evan is coming over next weekend. They did not advance to state but did a great job at semi-state last weekend. It is sad but we will get to see him more and he will be doing winter drumline soon. We get him for Thanksgiving and Christmas and we are really excited for that. He talks about it alot so I think he is excited too.
We are getting back on the Dave Ramsey budget which I would recommend to anyone! It is so easy to follow and saves you lots of burdens. I have lived from paycheck to paycheck and with Dave Ramsey you never have to do that. You always know where your money goes, not where did it go?
The house is coming along great. Evan's room is almost done then it is onto the living room. Lastly we will have the laundry-mud room and the bathroom to finish. Then some exterior work. It may be small and need work but we love our little house.
WOWZA I am rambling alot. I guess its because its been awhile. Have a great rest of the weekend!!!

Amazing fall weekend!!

I am so bad at opperating this picture thing hahhaa. I wanted the pics in a diff order but anyways here they are. We had a great weekend and even had Evan yesterday because of his fall break. Friday night Mom and Dad came down and went to dinner with Mike and I in Eville for my bday because I have to work thursday on my bday. We went to shop for a bit till Mike got off of work then met up at Texas Roadhouse. The food was yummy as always and we had an amazing time with my parents!! I felt like my parents actually enjoyed our company. I was so mad at my dad and Mike because they asked the waiter to do the birthday thing for me and I had to get up on a wooden saddle in the middle of the restaurant it was so embarassing!!!! My parents got me some great gifts but the fun we had was better than any gift.
Saturday I went to Jeffersonville for Evans band Regionals. They got gold and are going to Semi-State!!! GO OBR!!! So its off to Franklin next weekend. Mike actually gets to go this time which will be nice. We made dinner saturday night for when Mike got home from work and we had a great time with our little family. As much as I hate that the boys play their computer and video games just being in the same household is a good feeling. Sunday we hung out and went to John and Stephs for a bonfire and watched the colts game (what is up with them, they are stinkin it up right now). Yesterday we carved pumpkins had lunch and took Evan home. I had my first physical yesterday with Deaconess and just driving down the road to the hospital I was just all smiles, like ive said it is bittersweet because I love Bloomington but am ready to be home.
Mike and I got a big load of things from the Apt and will be getting the last of it in two weeks. Hope everyone had a great weekend, is enjoying this weather, and I hope everyone has a great week.

Fall Happenings

Mike and I finally had a date night the other night, it's been a while, he has been working so hard 6-7 days a week to pay for bills, house remodeling, among other things. He is the best and God has blessed me with such a wonderful man. We finally were able to see Fireproof and it was as good as everyone had talked about. Mike was ready to go to Barnes and Noble and get the love dare and another book one of his coworkers recommended. We were the only ones in the movie theater so we basically had a private viewing. I bawled my eyes out most the movie. I just kept looking at Mike and he would just smile. We really shared a wonderful moment and hope that we can open our hearts more to God.
We get Evan this whole weekend and for his fall break. I have so many things planned and will post pictures!! Tonight mom and dad are coming down for dinner and to just hang out because I am working next week for my birthday. Please pray that everything will go smoothly with Mike and my parents. The relationship is getting better but it is not even close to what I hope for, but God will provide I have faith in that.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy the amazing weather. I love this time of year.

So many things on my mind...

I have not blogged for a while. I have so many things on my mind I don't even know where to start. My family and I have kind of hit a road block again. I just want it to all be ok. I know they say they care and worry about me but the crying every night from how I feel I am being treated with some people is just not healthy. I just pray in time that it will be ok and just know that I need to put this into Gods hands. I guess I just need to be thankful that I am blessed with a family that wants to be so involved in my life and life decisions.

I start at Deaconess Nov 17th and can't wait. It is so bittersweet. I want to start my new job but leaving my current one is harder on me than I thought it would be.

Jinxy is at the house in princeton now and it is amazing how much animals know their home, when we got close to Princeton she got all antsy and when we got inside she went to her favorite spot it was so cute.

We are getting ready to start well finish construction on the house. I love our little house and can't wait for it to be finished.

My friend Heather is starting to blog and I cant wait to start seeing all about her cute little family. Love ya girl!!

Many Happenings...

This weekend had alot of stuff going on. Friday I took a CPR class. Came home to Princeton and unloaded TONS of things. I mowed the lawn and Mike went to the woods to set up for hunting. I know some women complain about hunting but I love this season. He gets to go have fun and I have time to clean and scrapbook. Dont get me wrong I love our times together but alone time is nice also. I cleaned the rest of Friday night and organized. I might be crazy but I looooooooooove cleaning and organizing. Saturday we went to Jasper for Evan's band District. They got a gold rating wooohooo. GO OBR. So we will be going to regional in 2 weeks. Then sunday was evans bday so we did our celebration on saturday. We went to eat at garfields, went to grandma coralies, a trip to gamestop, and to chris and crystals house. We had a great time. Sunday I went to my moms to visit before work and my aunt called to give us some bad news. My grandpa was having emergency surgery and we ran over to Jasper. I had to call into work due to my grandpas surgery and to be with family. It ended up better than I thouht and grandpa's surgery went fine and he is recooperating well.
I love this time of year!!!! Although it has warmed up some those few days of true fall weather I was really excited!! The sounds, smells, sights are just amazing in fall. I hope we can get all of out money in order here soon and go get married in Gatlinburg!!!

Life is great!!!

So, I finally heard back from Deaconess. I got the job and will be working the ER there. More trauma here I come!!!! I loved working in Bloomington ED and love everyone there but my life is changing and Deaconess will be just a great learning experience and hopefully be my choice of work for many years. More stuff was moved to the house in Princeton, yes I know it is taking me forever!!! I just smile at all times at how my life is coming back together. Another weekend of family time and band, also Evan's birthday which should be a great time.
Mom and Dad and I went to Loren and Kari's tonight and my nephew Cooper is sooooo stinkin cute!! I seemed to have lost my camera but soon will have more pictures when I find my camera. I know I might be biased but he is just so handsome and so well natured. As all of you know, Cooper takes after Kari and not Loren. hahahaha.
Well I am heading off to bed, long day tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone!

Fireproof your Marriage

So much to people's disbelief Mike and I have what I feel is an amazing relationship. We've been talking about finding a church when we get moved back to princeton. I have been reading about the movie and book, "Fireproof Your Marriage." As to anything that deals with God, some coworkers and friends just roll their eyes. My friend Renata (who is amazing) and I have been researching this book, blogs, and info. She and her husband have already seen this movie and Mike and I are going to soon.
I look forward to reading the book, seeing the movie, and doing the things Mike and I need to do to Fireproof our Marriage.

Now these three remain:
faith, hope, and love.
But the greatest of these is love

The Daily Grind

It feels like I just wrote a blog about being off of work and here I am in 5 hours going back to work. I almost think an 8-5 mon-friday job would be so much better than 3 days a week. No matter how much sleep you get your always tired on nights, no matter how many days you have off, the days you work are the ones that you need off. When you want a set schedule your scheduler will schedule you 4, 8, 12 hour shifts so that you dont have a life. Yes, I am on a rant, hahaha. I work sun, tues, wed, this week and have a class on friday. So there goes my whole week. Wow, I need to stop whining. Onto a better note, Evan's band got second in their class yesterday, they had a contest in Louisville. We went to dinner and hung out last night and today we had lunch and played monopoly for like 4 hours!! I love having time off with my boys. Well I need to get ready for work. Have a great week everyone!!!

Girls Night

Girl's night out with Robyn was soooooo fun. We always have a blast! It is so nice to be able to get together after not being around each other for a few months and feel like the last time we saw each other. We went to eville to the verizon store to fix Robyns janky phone(haha sorry Robyn), went to Red Lobster mmmmm (I got drunk on one margarita, it was hilarious), went halloween costume shopping, went to the mall and powershopped( give me and robyn an hour in the mall we find all the sales and get alot done), then went to a horrible movie my best friends girl. That movie was pretty stupid and vulgar. I am still giggling at how much fun we had. I can't wait to do it again.
Today we are going to another band competition. I love em but man it's a long drive all the time for us, like today I believe the drive is going to be 2 1/2 hours!!! Well I gotta get ready to go to the band competition. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Fun times ahead

I am off for three days and can't wait. Lo and I are going to get our hair did tomorrow hahaha, it is so fun every 6 weeks for us to go gossip, be girly, and shop!!! I hate that I will be moving soon and be away from all my awesome friends here but I know our life is changing and Princeton is where it feels like home. I am already planning trips to btown to spend with everyone. I have started packing things and can't wait to be in one place.
I have my interview friday with Deaconess and I am really nervous. I really hope to get the job but just hate interviewing. It should give me great experience.
Evan has another band competition this weekend. His birthday is next weekend and we are planning on doing something fun for him.
My friend Robyn and I are going to the movies. I havent seen her for a while and can't wait to have some fun girltime. We are going to see that new My best friends girl movie.
Mike started at St. Mary's this week and seems to like it so far. I am sure he will do awesome because he is such a good, caring nurse. Well it's time to do some laundry, clean, pack, nap, then off to Greenwood with Lo!!! Have a great weekend everyone.

Family

Yesterday Mike and I went around and visited some family and went to Evan's band competition. It was a great day. We forget in our day to day life how important our family is to us. We complain about having to run run run and see everyone and rarely have people visit us but the feeling after visiting is amazing!! We visited one of my best friends Brooke for her birthday, went to my mom's new house and watched a movie, visited my aunt tammy, went to Mike's grandparents Merrill and Vivian, and his cousin Jimmy Ray and Leah at their new place which was soooo nice. We then ended the day at Paoli for Evan's band where his granparents Scott and Coralie, and Marge and Larry came to watch, which was extremely nice. Evan did such a good job, it amazes me how much work goes into it and everytime he marched it looked like he was going to get trampled yet he made it out everytime. Seeing family just made us so happy.

On another note, I have an interview next friday with Deaconess. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really hope to work there and Mike and I are moving back to Princeton and I need a job. The house in princeton is almost all remodeled and moving back there makes me smile just thinking about it. I hope to have a more set schedule and spend more time with the people that mean the most to me. I will post pictures of the house soon when it is finished but this is what I have for now.

Blogging

Well, I have been sucked into the world of blogging. I have been using facebook and myspace for years and never blogged and just thought do I really like having these sites so that people can watch my life? I was reading some blogs from my hometown and thought wow, these are cute and it doenst seem stalkerlike, ie. myspace and facebook. I am addicted now. I can't wait to blog now. I hope in the near future Mike and I will start having kids and I can keep friends and family updated on Evan and other children god will bless us with. I absolutely hate talking on the phone but love emailing and reading. Journaling is also a great release for me. I will be moving again soon and want to keep up with my coworkers and their children. This is great and one of my coworkers Amanda has already started blogging and I look forward to watching Evan her little one year old grow. Got a busy day ahead of us, washington, paoli, band competition and other things. Have a great day!

Bean Blossom

Mike and I went to Bean Blossom tonight. Let's just say it's always interesting to go to a biker rally. We had a great time with my dad and all his friends. I am getting more used to riding but I am still not that comfortable. Every corner we take or quick stop my heart just stops and I flash to all the patients I have taken care of in the ER. Hopefully I can get more comfortable because Mike loves it so much.
